Lord Rose has ploughed a chunk of his wealth into high-tech wealth manager Netwealth.

The ex-chairman of Marks & Spencer joined Edward Bonham Carter, the former Jupiter chief executive and brother of actress Helena, ex-Prudential chairman Harvey McGrath and Lloyds of London chairman Bruce Carnegie-Brown in helping the business to raise £11.3m.

Michael Spencer, founder of the broker ICAP, also invested £5m on top of the £5m he put in two years ago.

Netwealth, set up in 2016, was founded by ex-Goldman Sachs partner Charlotte Ransom.

The London firm allows clients to speak with an adviser, but uses modern technology to manage their money, lowering costs.
